Twins take on LFWM 2018

January 21, 2018

Our first ever London Fashion Week Men’s and what a weekend it has been. We both have been living in London for 3 months and it’s easy to see why London is one of the coolest, cleanest & craziest cities when it comes to men’s fashion and fashion in general. There is so much different style on the streets here and in our eyes, is the best place for getting any style tips from simply just walking around the busy streets whether it be the edgy vibes of Shoreditch or the classy vibes of Chelsea. As LFWM comes to the city, the buzz becomes evident as the number of different coloured Mercedes-Benz G wagons whizz about and the streets fill with hundreds of well-dressed people.

We were lucky enough to be invited to a few amazing events during LFWM where we met some great people in the industry and really learnt a lot about AW18 collections and up and coming styles that are about to hit the retailers this year, (Keep an eye on our insta @wadetwinsstyle_ for day to day style updates).

Tateossian AW18 press day:

Our first event was to go and check out the new Tateossian AW18 Jewellery collection at the London store in Mayfair and meet the owner Robert Tateossian himself. We have both been keen on men’s jewellery lately and really like to add all types of jewellery to our outfits, small accessories can really make an average outfit go to a great outfit. When our invite came to go and see Tateossians new collection it was incredibly hard for us to say no.

The new collection is truly magnificent and it seems Robert and his design team have explored the world in search for the finest materials & different ideas to make the jewellery ever so unique in every way, shape and form. From hand selected fossils that date back over 175 million years to putting watch fronts in the men’s cufflinks, the new collection really stands out from anything else in today’s market.

After chatting to Robert for some time, his passion for his business and to make the highest of quality products is evident and it was a real pleasure for us both to be invited down and meet the man behind such a unique jewellery brand.

Topman LFWM party:

Of course, with it being Fashion Week there are also the occasional parties to attend, don't worry, we are not ones to complain. The Topman party is a rather exclusive event where a lot of London based bloggers, influencers, models, scouts etc attend. We were extremely lucky to get an invite and what a great night it was. We got the opportunity to meet so many people in the Fashion industry and really learn a lot from each and everyone of them. Events like this are great to network and take advice from all the people who are succeeding within the Fashion industry.

Belstaff AW18 Origin Showcase:

One of our favourite brands in the market today is Belstaff, their clothing is not only of the highest quality but is also stylish and super cool. They also did a campaign called 'Outlaws' featuring David Beckham, so how can Belstaff not be cool, right? The showcase itself was fantastic to see the AW18 origin collection, they were also honouring the 70th anniversary of the iconic four-pocket Trialmaster jacket, so it seemed that extra bit special. We both then attended the the event in their London store in Liberty, Soho, where we met many more people in the industry and to say Belstaff can throw a party is an understatement, the store was absolutely pumping to say the least.

Our Favourite shows during LFWM:

There are so many incredible shows during LFWM and the styles and fashion that are coming this year are going to be fantastic to say the least, our top shows this year had to be the following:

Firstly, Tinie Tempah's 'What We Wear' collection is right up our street, Tinie's collection was based on workwear and was brought together by using his families history in the workplace as inspiration to create a modern day style for the every day working man.

The collection takes traditional elements of workman's dressing, safety orange, cargo pants and high vis reflective strips which give the impression of an offering created with function in mind. Lots of khaki, grey and navy also grounded the collection as one designed to be worn day-to-day. A brand both of us will be wearing this year, especially Will, as his initials are WW.

Secondly, Oliver Spencers showcase had to be one of the most talked about shows during LFWM. Why? Because every single piece of clothing was dope AF. Oliver Spencers philosophy is a simple yet effective one, 'Quality needn't mean formality; casual needn't mean careless' and this was truly portrayed in every piece of his AW18 collection. Oliver Spencer has developed a sophisticated and intelligent design approach and it seems that they're continuing to design a complete, contemporary wardrobe for the modern, fashion-conscious man.
