For the love of Corduroy

October 15, 2017

This week we were invited to store opening of the new Cords flagship store in Soho. Firstly, what we all think of Cords is gran dad, old people wearing cords and very old fashioned. However, Cords are really starting to hit the shelves again and become cool with help of the Cords & Co. Cords & Co are a small boutique retail store for fashion enthusiasts who have a passion for corduroy clothing pieces.

We unfortunately lost half of our content taken on the event so we headed there the following day to grab some more photos.

We began our day mooching around Notting Hill and checking into some old second hand clothing stores (trust us, you can find some incredibly cheap, vintage and branded pieces in these little hideaways).

We ventured into Soho where we met our friend @Tundeogun (fellow fashion enthusiast). A busy Thursday evening in one of our favourite London hangouts for shopping and a few drinks.

We got to the extremely busy Cords store, hosted by Starworks PR agency where we were blown away by the turnout and amount of cord on show (i think we dressed wrong for the occasion haha). With a live DJ, plenty of Prosecco, classy cocktails and enough delicious canapés to feed a small country we were set for the evening.

We viewed the new selection and loved all the pieces. We don't own any good quality cord items in our wardrobe so it was good to try on and purchase some designer cord pieces and get a better understanding of the materials and designs from the experienced retailed staff. It can be worn nicely on any occasion whether it be a night out or as an everyday wear piece (especially the jackets and shirts, our personal favourites).

Will bought the CUT ECRU Corduroy Trucker Jacket and Henry bought the OSSP ICONIC GREEN Corduroy Over shirt

What we loved about them both is the shorter sleeves than usual. Personally we like to pull our sleeves up as you can see in the picture and these items allowed us to do that just perfectly. The quality also is really good, what looks heavy is actually extremely light, breathable and very comfortable.

Here are some of the other stylish pieces below, from trousers to the cool accessories:

If you are looking to add something different to your wardrobe and make yourself stand out more then be sure to have a look at the Mens and Women's Cords collection. For us men, it's easy to venture to the high street brands but sometimes it's nice to be different. So be unique, stand out and wear some cool, edgy and different cord threads. If you buy any be sure to tag us and let us know on your purchase using #thewadeway.

Wade out!
