Twins take on LFW

October 1, 2017

London Fashion Week

So the past few years, we have both been out of our home country England when Fashion week has been on and every year we always say to one another, “we need to be in London for Fashion Week”. This year was the year, and we were both lucky enough to experience some great moments of London Fashion week 2017.  For us, fashion week is all about style, looking for the latest trends, shooting some cool content and meeting new people in the industry.

Coming into London for Fashion week, there really is a big buzz around the city and you can tell that fashion week is in full flow. With the number of different shows, the catwalks, the parties, the designers, the many LFW Mercedes G Wagons and fashion experts from around the world all in one place, it certainly creates a big hype around the world of fashion.

Emporio Armani store opening:

Our Fashion week experience started down Bond Street on Sunday 17th September, for the launch of the new Emporio Armani store, which is unbelievable to say the least. Armani has certainly ticked all the right boxes in our eyes, bringing so much colour and vibrance to their new collection. We chose to go for a similar look to the event and both wore striped jumpers, yes we know, very twinny. You may be thinking ‘Tommy Hilfiger’ however these jumpers are Zara and H&M for less than £25 each (Bargain).

Being Twins, I guess the jumper thing did workout pretty well. We both decided to go for this simple look as stripes are certainly starting to make there way back this Autumn and we highly recommend to get some striped clothing back in your wardrobe ASAP.

I (Will) decided to go for the Zara crew neck striped jumper along side a short pair of cut off Zara trousers with some bold all white Common Project trainers. My favourite part of the outfit is the trousers, as they are a tracksuit material, but you'd never guess. Making them extremely loose fitted and comfortable.

Henry, one the other hand, decided to go for the H&M blue crew neck striped jumper paired up with Burton all black skinny jeans with a pair of cream suede Ask the Missus Chelsea boots. The jumper worked really well with the Chelsea boots as the thick beige/cream stripe matched the suede boots perfectly. Both outfits bounced off each other perfectly and really worked well in our twin duo.

It is important to feel comfortable, and the best part of these outfits is that they are extremely comfortable, LFW involves lots of walking from shows to events, so these outfits made the perfect choices for a day of walking around a blissful London.

The launch of the new store was amazing and our day continued around London, where we walked around central and found some cool places to shoot.

Emporio Armani Afterparty:

As the day came to an end and the sun set beautifully over London, we headed home for a swift outfit change for the Emporio Armani After party over at Tobacco Dock. Tobacco Dock turned into a neon lit, champagne fuelled nightclub that boasted a free bar, free canapés and a serious amount of A list celebrities, including live performances from Ellie Golding and Disclosure.

Here we met some awesome people who are big in the fashion industry and was certainly a good place of us both to network and meet new people.

We both opted for different looks here, and not so twinny compared to our day outfits. Myself, keeping things in the true summer spirit went for a short sleeve flower pattern shirt from Boohoo Man, paired up with the short cut off Zara trousers and all white Common Project trainers. A real effortless, but cool outfit keeping things open, bright and summery. Whereas Henry decided on a few more layers with a Zara khaki green Denim jacket, buttoned to the top, over a plain Topman grey t-shirt, alongside distressed Boohoo black skinny jeans and another pair of classic Ask The Missus Chelsea boots. Keeping things extremely simple, yet very smart, casual, cool and appropriate for any sort of afterparty.

Our Favourite Shows During Fashion Week:

There has been many incredible shows during fashion week, and we really have to agree with what everyone is talking about and say our favourite shows had to be:

Firstly, the Tommy Hilfiger #TommyNow show seemed to have got the fashion world's attention with a show stopping runway, with the designer, officially launching his #TommyNow range. We both love the new mens collection, which shows off the every day menswear in a true Tommy Hilfiger fashion including lots of signature stripes and cool checks.

Secondly, Burberry show. The tartan, car coats and patchwork of knits as burberry is famously known for, and they did not shy away from their originality and brought a mix of textures, colours and silhouettes to the runway which is dope AF. The tartan bits Burberry do will never die, and it's a design we have always liked.

Thirdly, Emporio Armani. We love how Emporio Armani targets the metropolitan youth of our time and this really shows in the clothing and the designs. The coolness, the current and slick items that were showcased on the catwalk seriously were our cup of tea and Emporio Armani seemed to offer clothes and accessories for every purpose or occasion. From sportswear to formal and occasion wear, pretty much every piece Henry and I gave a big thumbs up too!

In and around London:

London Fashion Week brings out the world of fashion so you really do see some weird, wonderful and incredible fashion in and around London. Henry and I kept things pretty simple when we were strolling around, keeping things contemporary, simple and comfortable....Ow and also quite twinny HAHA. Below are some of outfits we shot around London which we mainly tried to base around our newly favourite Chelsea boots, designed by 'Ask The Missus' and purchased from Office:

Our first style we paired up the Chelsea boots with were some distressed denim jeans, check shirt (wrapped around waste) and our go to All Saints leather jackets which we've now had for years, and only got better with age:

Another outfit we decided to put together around the 'Ask The Missus' Chelsea boots was an easy, go to, comfortable outfit involving skinny jeans a plain T shirt and a bold check shirt. A perfect standout outfit for strolling around any city in:

Our third outfit we decided to go a little more casual and really show that these Chelsea boots can be worn with pretty much anything. We decided to really layer up (mainly due to the unpredictable UK weather) and pair the chelsea boots with a big oversized hoodie under a oversized Denim jacket. A perfect outfit for going into Autumn for when the UK weather is getting rather unpredictable:
